Moe Lay has been trapped in slavery all her life. At the age of 15, her virginity was sold to a brothel. At 19, she married a gambling addict who forced her to work in street prostitution. Then, in order to pay for medical treatment, Moe Lay needed to take out a loan and for 2 years, she was in bondage having to starve herself and her children in order to pay it back. That was until she had the boldness and courage to tell him that she had already paid more than what she owed. It was as if the waters that had held her back suddenly parted and she could finally step into the ‘Promises of Hope’.
Together with survivors of human trafficking, Eden creates precious jewelry that carries their stories. Eden is an anti-trafficking organization supporting frontline teams in Myanmar who run various programs to prevent human trafficking and empower trafficking survivors. Through a holistic program including safe shelter, health care, trauma counseling, creative therapies, and education, we journey with the vulnerable on a path towards freedom, hope, and opportunity.
